I wasn’t raised by my parents. I grew up in foster care, feeling like I was walking through life completely alone. I know the pressure of having people try to box you in—telling you who you should be, based on your past, your circumstances, or your fame. 

But here’s what I’ve learned: your identity is not defined by the world’s perception. I found my true self, a master of confidence and presence by embracing my identity as a daughter of Christ, and I give you permission to do the same—to rediscover your authentic self, to evolve, and to boldly show the world a side of you that has yet to be revealed. 

Once I stepped into that truth, I found the power to use my voice and my story in spaces I never imagined—whether in education, corporate, churches, with incarcerated women, or with powerful female entertainers just like you.
